4 August 2006: Technology Demonstrator
Trisent's new web based Technology Demonstrator will provide a simple showcase of Trisent technology capabilities. Phase one will go live on the web on 7th August and will illustrate the live tracking and location history data via a simple map interface. Future phases of the demonstrator will show some of the more advanced capabilities.

3 March 2006: Fife Business Awards

Trisent was announced as a finalist in the Innovation and Creativity category at the Fife Business Awards 2006 ceremony held in Glenrothes on Friday 3rd March.

14 February 2006: Tri-locator is launched at 3GSM
Tri-locator is the World's first product to be based on the Tri-cell technology and was offically launched on Tuesday 14th February at 3GSM in Barcelona. Tri-locator is a real-time tracking service like GPS, but without the satelites and at a lower cost.

10 January 2006: Beta system is deployed
Three key customers have been selected to trial the Beta Tri-locator service. The first trial units have now been handed over for customer assessment and feedback.

22 December 2005: Trade mission to Sweden
Trisent will join a small group of Scottish telematics companies on a trade mission to 'Telematics Valley' in Gothenburgh Sweden 22-23 March 2006. The aim of the mission is to discuss potential co-operation and trade between Scottish and Swedish telematics companies.

19 December 2005: Trisent to exhibit at Commercial Vehicle Telematics UK 2006, Birmingham
Trisent will be exhibiting at Commercial Vehicle Telematics UK, 27-28 April 2006. We will be showing our Tri-cell technology for worker, vehicle and asset tracking.

28 November 2005: Trisent to exhibit at 3GSM 2006, Barcelona

1 November 2005: Sales and Business Development
Trisent have appointed Ken McGinness to the role of Business Develoment Manager. Ken will be responsible for developing the sales channels and helping to steer the commercial strategy of the company.

18 August 2005: Marketing Consultant Appointed

Trisent have appointed Allan Sturgeon as a consultant for marketing services. The contract is for development of the marketing and sales plans prior to the launch of Trisent’s first commercial location tracking services. According to Allan “The Trisent Location Based Service is an exciting entrant into the vibrant marketplace of mobile phone based services. We are preparing for the launch of this service and looking forward to meeting our new customers.”

1 August 2005: Pilot Tracking System is Deployed
After successful field trials of Trisent’s prototype location tracking system, a company has been chosen to test a pre-launch pilot system. The pilot runs for 3 months from August to October and will provide end-user feedback and the ability to detect and mitigate operational problems over an extensive trial period with a real end-user.

1 July 2005: Software Contract Awarded to Abelon
Trisent have placed a contract with Edinburgh based Abelon Systems Ltd for the development of mobile phone based software. This first phase of software development will be completed in September and will provide a component part of Trisent’s location tracking services.

2 May 2005: Trisent Relocates to Dunfermline

Trisent have relocated from the Edinburgh Technology Transfer Centre to the Dunfermline Business Centre. The move allows Trisent to expand existing activities and provides future flexibility in its business development plans. Dunfermline is well served by transport links and is an attractive location for the professional staff that Trisent is recruiting.

21 April 2005: VC Investment in Trisent

Trisent Communications Limited (“Trisent”) is pleased to announce that Sigma Innovation Fund (East of Scotland) (“SIF”), a fund managed by Sigma Technology Management Limited (“Sigma”), has completed an investment of £300,000 in Trisent. This round of funding will be used to support continued service development and for expansion of the company’s commercial activities. Mark Hogarth, Business Development Director of Sigma, said “Trisent have developed a unique approach to mobile phone tracking that will allow existing location based services to be delivered at lower cost while also enabling new applications to be developed. We are looking forward to working with Trisent as they bring this technology to market.”

4 December 2004: Trisent joins MX
Trisent has been approved as a member of MX. MX is the industry alliance for the mobile and wireless community in Scotland and beyond. Trisent is looking forward to working with MX and networking with the member companies and partners.

15 September 2004: MBO from Elektrobit

Resulting from a successful management buy-out, the operational business of Elektrobit (UK) Ltd has been acquired by newly formed Trisent Communications Ltd (Trisent). Gordon Povey, Managing Director for the new company said. “We have purchased unique mobile location tracking technology and we possess the skills to develop this commercially. For the Finnish based Elektrobit Group the technology did not fit squarely into their core business portfolio but we believed that the business case was very strong. It therefore made sense for us to create an independent company to exploit the potential of the new technology that we had pioneered.”
