TRISENT - Tri-cell Technology

Tri-cell is a unique location technology that provides location-aware
capabilities for cellular systems without the need for GPS. Tri-cell is
the only location technology that can provide continuous location data
for unmodified mobile phones. Its major advantage is its scalability
and it needs no additional capital equipment or software within the
cellular network.

Tri-cell technology uses thin client software that is easily loaded on
to each cellular phone. The client software runs in the background
and provides regular network measurement reports to the Tri-cell
Intelligent Location Server (TILS) via small data packets sent over
GPRS or 3G.

TILS uses a proprietary hybrid algorithm and several data sources
in order to estimate the location of the cellular device. The sources
of data include the network data sent by the phone, historical data
sent by the same and other phones, and network data already
known to the server.

By using all of the useful sources of data simultaneously TILS is able
to provide location accuracies that greatly exceed those of Cell-ID
services. The location estimates are generated regularly as the
terminal moves around providing a continuous location-aware service.
